About the rhinoplasty operation

Rhinoplasty is not some scary operation that you need to be wary of. Considering the sheer number of times that this operation is performed, it is quite a routine procedure. Of course, you would want to discuss the options with your surgeon before you actually do go in and consider this kind of surgery. However, knowing a little bit about it before you actually go in for the process can be of benefit to you, since you will be better prepared for it, and have realistic expectations at the end of it.

How much time should you keep aside?
Once you have decided on the kind of Rhinoplasty that you would want to go in for, the next thing left to do is to decide upon the exact amount of time that you wish to keep aside in order to get the process done and completed. Ideally, you would want to set aside around 4 to 6 weeks, including the procedure and recovery. This is just to be on the safe side because you might never really know about the complications that might arise due to the surgical procedures. Even with a normal procedure, you will need time in order to recover fully and go about your daily activities.

What about costs?

This depends on the kind of procedure that you go in for. As a rule of thumb, you can assume that the operation will set you aside by as much as £6,000. This is on the far end of the scale, as there are cases of surgical Rhinoplasty being conducted for a much lesser amount, like around £3000- £4000. On the other hand, non surgical nose reshaping will cost lesser than this as well, which is again dependent on the kind of job that you are looking at. Make sure that you verify with your health insurance provider if you have one so that you don’t end up paying a lot of the expenses from your own pocket when it might be covered by insurance policy(breathing problems, trauma etc).

How can I choose a surgeon?
Choosing the right surgeon is not really a tough task and you can easily look up your options when you go online. It is quite possible that you would want to see the different options and decide on the one that you would like to pursue. Ensure that the surgeon you are looking at is experienced in this procedure and has many years of case photos and before and after photos he can show. If possible, contact some of his previous clients to get a feel as to the kind of surgeon that he is and what you can expect.
