Q. I had rhinoplasty about six years ago and I have been disappointed ever since.I had a small hump removed and this has left me with an uneven patch where the bone was removed. My main worry, however, is that my nose is not in proportion as it is too short. This has affected my confidence badly.,
A. Thank you for your email. Sorry to hear about how you feel about your previous rhinoplasty. If you are seeking advice for possible revisional procedure then I will need additional information e.g. age, gender, details of the previous rhinoplasty etc. I have following suggestions to help you further: 1) Please send me good quality photos for my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. Q. The tip of my nose is way too wide and I have never really beeen happy with it. Could you tell what specifically will you do to narrow it and is it likely to be a painful process? I hacve mixed views whether I should go ahead so the most obvious thing to do would be to come and see you. Do you charge for a consultation or is it added on if you go ahead with surgery??,
A. Thank you for your enquiry. Reshaping of the tip of the nose is not a painful process, but the exact technique depends on several factors: – The strength of the supporting cartilages of the tip of the nose – The thickness of the skin over the tip of the nose – How far is the tip of the nose sticking out and whether you would like to change it to a different projection, either lower or higher All these factors determine the exact technique, and unless I see you in consultation I can only give you generic advice. There is indeed a consultation fee, and as you have mentioned it is deduced from the surgical fee if you decide to go ahead with the operation.

Q. My nose tip curves more to the right and I wondered if this is correctible? Is it a complicated procedure?,
A. Hi there. We can often improve upon nasal tip asymmetry, but sometimes (because of the way your body and face is shaped) we cannot correct this completely. So, when you ask if this is correctible, I would say that it’s improvable – I hope that’s useful information but let me know if you need more details; either that or maybe you could come for a consultation and discuss things a little further.

Q. I am a afro/caribean with a flat nose. however i want to see if im eligeable for a non surgical nose job before a surgical job as i would like to see if i am happy with a change and as i only want to make the top of my nose look straighter and for the tip to be lifted. Is there anyway of determining this by pictures or anything else recommened. I live in birmingham so as close by as possible!,
A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would imagine that a nonsurgical reshaping of the bridge of the nose if it is a matter of making it stand out more, would be feasible. I would however highlight the fact that in my hands, this would mean a temporary filler to avoid problems related to permanent fillers. With regard to the tip of the nose, I doubt that a nonsurgical approach will give you satisfaction. It is possible to do a simulation on computer using either 2-D or 3-D imaging to give you an indication of what the changes could be. You can find out more at: http://www.allaboutcosmeticsurgery.co.uk/rhinoplasty/consultation/computerised-3d-planning and http://www.allaboutcosmeticsurgery.co.uk/3d-imaging

Q. My nose it too flat against my face – I look angry all the time. Id like to look at having the nose reshaped so it suits my face. Could this be fixed with surgery?,
A. Thank you for your inquiry. The answer is that you are looking for a change in shape to trigger a change in body image (non-verbal communication). You are the only one that has the answer, because most likely the others do not think you are angry. The only option I can offer to help clarify the potential benefits of surgery is to have a consultation using 3D imaging and simulation, so that you can check whether a shape change makes you feel the problem is solved.

Q. Hello Mr. Lucian Ion. My name is ####### and i am enquiring about a rhinoplasty procedure. I recently had an accident abroad and came off the back off a motorcycle and seriously damaged my nose. I was rushed to hospital where they had to perform emergency surgery on the base of my nose as the skin and cartilage was hanging off. They had to cut both the skin and cartilage off the base (the thinner part towards the point of the nose) as it was too damaged to repair. They then had to stretch and lower my nose and re-attach it. There for i have been left with a hook profile and very long un-even nostrils and it has left me distraughted. I suffer from anxiety and mild depression on a daily basis and am on medication, so i find it hard as it is. Now this has happened to my nose it’s only made things 10 times worse and is seriously affecting every aspect of my life and i’v lost my job and struggle to even leave the house. I don’t know whether you can class it as revision rhinoplasty or not but they did have to operate on it in thailand where i had the accident, so i believed it may be revision. I am going to see my GP this week to ask them for a referral on the NHS. Is it ok to meet you so you can examine my nose as i am desperate to get it sorted so i can move on with my life. Many Regards,
A. Thank you for your question. As it is a post-traumatic situation, in principle it should classify for treatment through the NHS. If you are discussing with your GP, do mention that I would be happy to see in the NHS.
