I am considering a septorhinoplasty and would like to know what the for this is

Q. I am considering a septorhinoplasty and would like to know what the for this is. How long before i can fly and also the price for surgery?,

A. Hi there. If you have a septorhinoplasty, then the cost starts at around £3800 or thereabouts. If we do a lot to the septum then the price goes up, but generally speaking prices start at around this price. You can call 0141-552 0828 for an exact cost. You can fly the following day, for short distances and you’re at risk of blood clots for around 6 weeks so it’s important to wear flight socks and drink plenty of fluids during the flight

I would like more information on non surgical nose job

Q. I would like more information on non surgical nose job. thanks,

A. Thank you for email. There are biodegradable synthetic fillers available which can be used to camouflage surface irregularities of the nose. This is NOT a permenent solution since the synthetic product degrades in 3 to 6 months time. I DONOT use permenent fillers in my practice because of its recognised long term complications. I believe that ‘non surgical nose job’ is a good compliment to surgical rhinoplasty but it should not be regarded as a substitute to surgical rhinoplasty. With best wishes,

I have had a phinoplasty operation 25 years ago, but the left side of my nose tip is looking down

Q. I have had a phinoplasty operation 25 years ago, but the left side of my nose tip is looking down. Can this be corrected with non surgical nose reshaping or do I need to have rhinotip surgery.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. In general terms, nonsurgical nose reshaping involves adding injectable fillers to build up some parts of the nose so that the overall contour looks better. It would be easier to advise you if I can either see some photographs or better even see you in consultation.

I have wanted a nose job for as long as I can remember

Q. I have wanted a nose job for as long as I can remember, I have never had any direct bullying from it or anything, apart from the odd comment, its more my insecurity. But I am only just 19, how old would you recommend I be to undergo the procedure, as I realise I might be too young. Thanks.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I typically advise teenagers to wait until they are at least 18 before they consider having rhinoplasty surgery. Beyond this age, apart from the fact that the nasal development has more or less stabilised, the facial proportions have also entered a slower rate of change.

I had a septo-rhinoplasty done privately under insurance for medical reasons in July 2009

Q. Dear Mr Ion, I had a septo-rhinoplasty done privately under insurance for medical reasons in July 2009. This was around 18 months ago now but as a result of the operation 1. My nostrils are very noticeably different sizes and shapes now, they where not before sugery. Does not look very good. 2. By straightening my nose (which was bent to the left) the bump I had, which is still there, now has more a dent before the end of the nose where it was broken during surgery and now creates a bad looking shadow when standing under any light Is it possible to correct these with a second surgery – and if performed privately under insurance for mediacal reasons, but the overall look once finished makes me now very conscious and depressed can I follow this up with the insurance company, GP or private consultant? Also is correctove rhinoplasty more expensive than first time surgery? Thanks for your time,

A. Thank you very enquiry. I think in the first instance you should discuss this with your surgeon. I doubt that the insurance company will provide cover for the cosmetic revision, and also with regards to the NHS, I do not know whether this would be covered. You could discuss this with your GP. I cannot speak for other surgeons, but my fees for first-time or secondary rhinoplasty procedures are no different.

I am Chinese and have a very small nose that looks very weak

Q. I am Chinese and have a very small nose that looks very weak. I want to know if you do any procedure such as nose augmentation to enhance the nose and make it look stronger and more defined. I very realistic about what can be done and what cant and don’t expect miracles. Can you tell me what types of grafts do you use like cartilage or synthetic implants? Thanks,

A. Thank you for your email. There are 3 well recognised ways for augmentation rhinoplasty. i) Synthetic implants 2) Cartilage graft 3) Bone and cartilage graft. Each technique has its advantages and limitations. I use all 3 types of materials for augmenation rhinoplasty based on specific indications.I have following suggestions to help you further: 1) Please send me good quality photos for my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. There are seven aspects to my nose which I am not satisfied with

Q. Plan to have rhinoplasty. There are seven aspects to my nose which I am not satisfied with – the prevalence of the tip, the seemingly permanent redness of my nose, its size, it’s shape, the size of the nostrils, the hump/bump on the nose and its lack of ‘clean and clear connection with my forehead’ – which I believe is called the nose bridge. Realistically, can I expect these problems to be corrected/improved in one operation?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. The redness of the nose is not improved by surgery, and sometimes can be exacerbated. The typical treatment involves either intense pulsed light or laser. In the case of rosacea, a more structured dermatology treatment is required. With regards to the transition between the forehead and the nose, or the radix area, it is possible to deepen it, but there are some limitations regarding the frontal sinus, and this can be evaluated on an x-ray. Otherwise the changes that you describe are commonly part of rhinoplasty surgery and would typically be addressed in the same operation.

Can it possible to make bend nose straight

Q. Can it possible to make bend nose straight,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. It is indeed possible to correct a deviation of the nose whether it is related to an injury of the nasal support structures, or a developmental problem. In particular in the context of a very significant deviation my preference would be to use the open tip approach for this type of correction.

I have inflammation in my eye lids do you know if it is possible to have this surgically removed?

Filed under: Experts,Mr Taimur Shoaib — admin @ 11:10 am
Q. I have inflammation in my eye lids do you know if it is possible to have this surgically removed? i have already tried steroid eye drops with very limited success…I have private medical insurance,

A. it all depends on how the inflammation affects your eyelids, but often we find that surgery doesn’t do a great deal for eyelid inflammation and the hooded eyelids simply come back because your skin keeps stretching with the inflammation. Private medical insurance probably won’t cover the fees that surgeons charge for treating your eyelids, but may take some of the sting away from the costs if your insurance company agrees to repay your costs. You’ll probably have to pay the surgeons and try and get the fee back from your insurance company and your GP will probably have to send in a letter of referral too.
