Q. Do you do or know of any procedures to treat severe chicken pox scarring in a 4 year old child, she has been left with very noticeable indentations and holes around the nose area. This is resulting in other children commenting and teasing her at school. I fear she is going to suffer emotionally and psychologically as a result. Hello Doctor, I have septum deviation on my left side right from my birth defect.I am 28 years of age ,Currently the only problem I am facing is drowsiness some times if I dont sleep exactly 8 hours of sleep.I have checked ENT doctors and even taken scan on my paranasal sinus and found only the deviation as the only problem found. Apart from this I dont have any problem. Can you recommend to me whether I should go for surgery or not. Regards, ,
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it does seem as if you would need to see a further ENT surgeon as it maybe that you do need straightening up your septum to help you breathe at night. Q. In 2008 I had a permenant ileostomy and because if this I have lost a lot of weight & I am now thin& Boney. I have always had a bend at the top of my nose and because I’m so thin & Boney it’s become more prominent. I have issues with body image since my operation but my nose is really getting me down, I feel depressed, paranoid, always comparing my nose to others and it’s really affecting my self esteem because it’s my nose I cannot hide it through clothes. I have always had problems with my sinus as it’s right on the bend and have headaches. I can’t afford to have see about having it straightened privately because I’m a student nurse & single parent. I’m 29 years old, would I be eligible on the NHS?,
