I’am now 14 and want to know if having these ops will help me regain my sense of taste and smell(not to metion being able to breath again!!).,

i recently broke me nose at a concert and i wondered

Filed under: Broken Nose,Experts,Mr Prashant Govilkar — admin @ 8:57 am
Q. i recently broke me nose at a concert and i wondered how long after the surgery can i swim in the sea? and will i have to wear a peg or a bandage?,

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, I’m sorry that you broke your nose during the concert. Generally, if you break your nose it will take a few weeks for your bones to settle but gentle activities such as swimming should not be too much of a problem after 3-4 weeks. You should however trying avoid any further damaged to your nose for at least 2 months after your injury as the bones will still be relatively fragile at this stage. If after 6-8 months the nose is at all misshapen it may be worthwhile considering an appointment with one of our specialist surgeons to discuss how this can be fixed. If you would like to schedule a consultation please ring us on 01844-214362 or email us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. I broke my nose in a footballing incident when I was

Q. Hi Mr Vadodaria, I broke my nose in a footballing incident when I was 15, I am now 26. I never took the matter to the doctors when i was young as my parents initially thought it was just swelling. I believe the term is a saddle shaped nose, which I am considering in getting fixed but I am slightly nervous as I have never had any form of surgery done. My questions are; (i)can rhinoplasty fixed a long term broken nose and make it look as it once was ? (ii) Would there have to be repeat surgery in the short term or long term? (iii) How long is the healing process ? (iv) Is my indian heritage a factor in the process, i.e. the bruising to the skin after the surgery would it remain? My aim out of this is for my nose to look normal so I can get on with my life, I look forward from hearing from you. Kindest Regards Yogesh,

A. Thank you for your email. It appears that you have a depressed bridge of nose following football injury. If that is the case then it can be corrected by performing augmentation rhinoplasty.Ther incidence of revision following rhinoplasty varies from 5 to 20 %. The healing process takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Your brown colour skin and thicker skin will help to disguise your bruising which takes 2 to 4 weeks to subside.I have following suggestions to help you further: 1) Please send me good quality photos for my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. Q. I am a 20 year old female and I suffered a broken nose when I was very young and was left with a very large bump on my nose. I was told that I would have to wait till I was older to have it fixed. I have no functional problems with my nose, it is purely the change in shape. I was wondering whether I would be able to get it corrected on the NHS?,

A. Thank you for your email. May I advise you to contact your GP to take his/her advice regarding your question, please? He would be the best person to deal with your query.

Hello, My 13 year old daugher was elbowed in the face

Q. Hello, My 13 year old daugher was elbowed in the face 9 days ago and is now left with the tip of her nose bent to one side. It is not extreme but can easily ben seen. I have been to our local hosptal and the ENT surgeon has said he will operate . I am concerned that as she is only 13 this may affect her growth- is it normal to operate at this age and hat will the surgery usually entail- thank you for taking the time to reply,

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, if your daughter had a recent trauma to her nose it’s probably best to as you have done preferred to be seen by ENT surgeon in the local hospital. Generally, nose surgery at this stage is aimed at straightening the broken structures in the nose and will not affect her long term growth in the future. ENT surgeons do specialize in this area and I think would be ideal people to discuss the best way forward for her. I do wish you the best of luck if your daughter decides to go ahead with treatment. A. Hi there. This is a common reason for wanting a rhinoplasty, and I have been able to remove bumps very successfully on many people who dislike their nose shape. I have more information on my website here: http://www.labelleforme.co.uk/rhinoplasty.html so please do have a look there. If you want to have a consultation then I can see your nose and let you know what I would hope to be able to do for you. Please call 01415520828 or email enquiries@labelleforme.co.uk for more information on how to take things further.

A. Thank you for your enquiry. Rhinoplasty surgery can address deviation of the nose and adjust the shape of the bridge and tip as well as the nostrils. It is possible to evaluate in a consultation using computer imaging and simulation was that if you would like to achieve, and what type of intervention would be necessary to create a result that is consistent with although not identical with the computer image.
