Q. When I was a baby, I broke my nose, but it went unnoticed. Years later I broke it again, and was told that it was broken all those years ago and that my nasal passages are crooked as a result. This means I have an unsightly bump on my nose. Would it be possible to get this rectified on the NHS? Thank you,
A. Thank you for your enquiry. In principle, post-traumatic rhinoplasty is acceptable for funding of NHS treatment. You should discuss this with your GP, as different health authorities may have their own approach regarding the low priority treatments.

Q. I was pushed to the ground at the age of 4 by another child and hurt my nose very bad but when i was even younger i fell off a swing at nursery and landed on my face. i remember my nose not bleeding but going very red. i am a person of colour so i assume the injury was quite bad but nothing was done about it apart from a wet tissue and my head held high. i am now 23 and ever since then i have had a slight bump on my nose. all though its not noticeable to anyone else i sometimes notice it and it gets me angry. the bump feels like bone like the nostril bit you see on a skull which is obviously normal but it feels slightly enhanced. i was wondering if you could possibly explain to me if the condition may suggest i had/have a fractured/broken nose or am i getting upset over nothing. i would greatly appreciate your feedback and knowledge on the matter.,

Q. I have recently broken my nose, I had it cracked back at the hosptial but it still isnt straight. How long do you have to wait until you can have a nose job?,
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, generally we recommend waiting at least 3 months prior to any injuries of your nose prior to having any surgery to correct it. This could allow the swelling to subside and also the bones in the nose to set. After this period please give us a ring on 01844-214362 if you’d like to schedule a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you.
