A. Thank you for email. There are biodegradable synthetic fillers available which can be used to camouflage surface irregularities of the nose. This is NOT a permenent solution since the synthetic product degrades in 3 to 6 months time. I DONOT use permenent fillers in my practice because of its recognised long term complications. I believe that ‘non surgical nose job’ is a good compliment to surgical rhinoplasty but it should not be regarded as a substitute to surgical rhinoplasty. With best wishes,

Q. I have had a phinoplasty operation 25 years ago, but the left side of my nose tip is looking down. Can this be corrected with non surgical nose reshaping or do I need to have rhinotip surgery.,

 

A. Thank you for your enquiry. In general terms, nonsurgical nose reshaping involves adding injectable fillers to build up some parts of the nose so that the overall contour looks better. It would be easier to advise you if I can either see some photographs or better even see you in consultation.

Q. Hi, I have been doing much research into permanent non-surgical nosejobs, and it appears in the USA there are many places which use Artefill or other similar fillers, however in the UK I cannot find a single place which will do this. I do not wish to use Juvaderm or Radiesse since they simply do not last long enough, can you recommend anywhere which uses one of these permanent fillers, either in the UK or Europe? A. Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, there are too many reports of problems with permanent fillers of synthetic nature, so I never use them. Also unfortunately these events tend to occur 5 to 10 years from the time of the treatment, making it more difficult for follow-ups to be accurate.

A. Hi. The reason most surgeons don’t like to use artificial fillers is that we tend to see complications, sometimes several decades, after the injections have been given. There are better solutions compared to artificial permanent products, including permanent tissue from yourself and permanent tissue that can be bought from a laboratory (alloderm, permacol, dermal grafts, fat grafts, bone grafts, cartilage grafts, etc). No permanent artificial filler has a good enough track record for long term safety, and although there are people who will perform the treatments on you, they won’t want to remove the product several years later if you get complications. I think there are far safer alternatives.

Q. I would like the end of my nose reshaped but would rather not have surgery to fix the problem and wondered if there was a non surgical solution that could work for me. If there is would the solution be permanent or would I be required to return for further treatments?,

 

A. There are some non surgical solutions for some nasal changes we want to see but they don’t work for every change that people are looking for. Non surgical solutions are temporary I’m afraid, but they’re usually very straightforward treatments and take a 30 minute appointment to perform.

A. Hi – I have a clinic in Glasgow and my price for a non surgical rhinoplasty is £300 – £200 for the treatment and £100 for the consultation. You can have treatment on the same day as your consultation but it will have to be in Glasgow.

Q. I am a afro/caribean with a flat nose. however i want to see if im eligeable for a non surgical nose job before a surgical job as i would like to see if i am happy with a change and as i only want to make the top of my nose look straighter and for the tip to be lifted. Is there anyway of determining this by pictures or anything else recommened. I live in birmingham so as close by as possible!,

 

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would imagine that a nonsurgical reshaping of the bridge of the nose if it is a matter of making it stand out more, would be feasible. I would however highlight the fact that in my hands, this would mean a temporary filler to avoid problems related to permanent fillers. With regard to the tip of the nose, I doubt that a nonsurgical approach will give you satisfaction. It is possible to do a simulation on computer using either 2-D or 3-D imaging to give you an indication of what the changes could be. Q. Would restylane injections be suitable for a dent in nose after previous rhinoplasty surgery? I would rather not have to have any other operations fopr cost and well being purposes but if I can get something done about this I would be very happy indeed. Regards,

 

A. Thank you for your enquiry. Hyaluronic acid injections can help create a smoother contour after rhinoplasty, and they would usually last for approximately 6 months. Radiesse injections can last up to a year. Although permanent fillers can also be used for the purpose, I would be more worried about that alternative.

Q. hi. 7 years ago i had a rhinoplasty. it went wrong. it was a close operation so no scar but the tip is messed up now. the surgeon has taken too much away from one nostril too much and it looks like a bone is protruding out of my tip. wnder if non surgical rhino can fix it,
