I am considering septoplasty to correct breathing and also for deviated septum
Q. Hello. I am considering septoplasty to correct breathing and also for deviated septum but wanted to know how long after surgery would it take me to recover. I have two small young children and am terrified that they will knock it during recover? The quicker it heals the better really and I know you cant be exact but some kind of indication would be great. Hope to hear from you soon,
A. Hi there It should take a couple of weeks to recover and most surgeons will use some kind of splint for 1-2 weeks. It is important to take things easy for the first week with no bending or lifting (you will need help with the children!). It is also important not to blow your nose during this time. Once the splint is removed you will need to be careful that it your nose is not knocked so contact sports and classes are also out for a while. Good luck!!
