Q. Hi Ion, pretty much my whole life I have wanted to reshape my nose. the thing is that I hate hospitals and I panic the minute I enter one. I suffer from anxiety and occasionally have anxiety/panic attacks. would this procedure put me in danger if I find myself in this situation before surgery? I really do want to have this procedure. what would you recommend? many thanks Louise,
A. Thank you for your enquiry. Whilst a panic attack or anxiety attack will not put you at risk, in the context of a hospital stay, this remains a very unpleasant experience and surgery may need to cancelled. There is an option to use treatment through hypnosis to try and overcome your reaction to hospitals, and certainly on the day after the consent form has been processed, it is possible to have medication to help you relax after the surgery.
