I want to go through nose plastic surgery

Q. I want to go through nose plastic surgery,

A. Thank you for your inquiry. The starting point is represented by a consultation, where it is possible to evaluate on computer simulation the type of change that you would like to see in the end. It allows me to formulate a plan for the treatment and explain the recovery period as well as the risks and complications associated with it. For guidance regarding costs related to more common aesthetic surgery procedures, or combination of procedures, please visit my website at: http://www.allaboutcosmeticsurgery.co.uk/about-us/cost-of-surgery If you would like to find out regarding the cost of procedures not included in the list, or different combinations, as well as to book an appointment, kindly contact our office either by telephone at: 020 7486 7757, or by e-mail at: contact@aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk , and my team will be delighted to help you. Kind regards Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)

I have a droopy tip at the end of my nose and was wondering if i can straighten it through non surgical rhinoplasty?

Q. hi, I have a droopy tip at the end of my nose and was wondering if i can straighten it through non surgical rhinoplasty? please can you get back to me?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. To the best of my knowledge and experience, a droopy nasal tip can only be moderately improved by nonsurgical means. The approach involves building up more volume at the base of the columella, and a degree of augmentation in the upper part of the nasal tip.A

Next year I plan to have a rhinoplasty to fix several difference characteristics of my nose that I dislike

Q. Next year I plan to have a rhinoplasty to fix several difference characteristics of my nose that I dislike. They are the size of the tip, sixe of the nose, shape size of the nostrils, a bump, the bridge, and the constant redness. I would like to know, is it realistic for me to expect all of these things to be fixed in one surgery?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. The only part that is never improved by the surgery is the redness, and in fact it can be made worse by the operation because of the interference with blood supply to the skin. The redness of the nose can be improved by intense pulsed light treatments, laser treatments, or if the redness is due to rosacea, dermatology advice should be sought. With regards to the reshaping of the nose, it is possible to evaluate the points you have raised on a computer simulation either on standard photographs or in 3-D. This allows for a more accurate discussion and planning, as well as an evaluation of what is reasonable to expect from a surgical intervention.

5 months ago I had a small lump (from a previous injury) removed from the front of my nose

Q. 5 months ago I had a small lump (from a previous injury) removed from the front of my nose. Has healed well but has left an indentation which really upsets me. Looks like someone’s pressed it in. I wonder if an injectable filler would help. My GP says I must leave it a year to settle first.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. In general terms, allowing it more time to settle will create a situation where it is easier to evaluate how much improvement is necessary. If you are contemplating using a temporary filler based on hyaluronic acid, like Restylane or equivalent, it would be safe to do the treatment at this stage also.

I have a large nose with a rather big bump which i am really self conscious about

Q. Hi there , I have a large nose with a rather big bump which i am really self conscious about. Since my early early teens at high school ive had little confidence and shown to suffer from self esteem . Im 17 now and have been researching , well looking into rhinoplasty for quite some time now , i had a few questions if you wouldn’t mind answering. Firstly , What is the minimum age to go under rhinoplasty ,2nd, whats the average price for the procedure , 3rd , how does the consultation form and what happens , 4th , i live in surrey woking , any suggestions as to where i could go under rhinoplasty for the foreseeable future ? Thank you very much your help is appreciated. Jamal,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. The general terms, I prefer to carry out the rhinoplasty surgery after the age of 18, when the facial development enters a slower phase of change. During the consultation, I try to evaluate together with the patients what is the type and degree of change that they would like to achieve, and using a computer simulation to elaborate on the details. In addition, during the consultation it is important to understand regarding the risks related to the surgery, the anticipated recovery sequence and the other options available. For guidance regarding costs related to more common aesthetic surgery procedures, or combination of procedures, please visit my website at: http://aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk/about-cost-of-surgery.php If you would like to find out regarding the cost of procedures not included in the list, or different combinations, kindly contact our office either by telephone at: 020 7486 7757, or by e-mail at: contact@aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk , and my team will be delighted to help you. I have recently had a consultation and i am happy with the outcome to proceed with surgery

Q. I have recently had a consultation and i am happy with the outcome to proceed with surgery but i was told that a closed procedure would be best for me to remove my hump and restucture the nasal bones once broken. i was also wanting my nose length reduced as it is also something i worry about and he said it would be reduced slightly.i am worried that after removal of the hump and restucture of bones that it will make the length look even more prominent. after looking at procedures on the net i realise that to reduce cartilage etc you would need an open procedure. the surgeon said this amount of work would be too much risk for all the nose to heal but it seems that the procedure happens all the time. should i ask him to do the open procedure to trim the cartilage or will he find a way to bring the length back in the closed procedure? is it common for surgeons to recommend the length isnt reduced or is this just a way to make the job easier for the surgeon because i thought it was what the patient wanted that s important.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I think you have a lot of questions and probably the best way to get answers to your satisfaction is to seek more than one surgeon. In essence, about three consultations with different surgeons is a sensible approach to work out what it is you want to achieve, what are the risks related to the surgery, and the options available. It is true that surgeons will start to develop a preference for a technique that they have become more familiar with, whether this is the open or close approach, and in some ways you may be better off working with the surgeon that is comfortable with your plans. A more conservative approach regarding changes is not necessarily a bad thing, and in this respect, it makes a significant difference if you can use a computer simulation to evaluate the potential impact of some of the changes and define more accurately what you want in the end.

I wondered if you may be able to advise me about whether i would benefit from rhinoplasty

Q. I wondered if you may be able to advise me about whether i would benefit from rhinoplasty. I have a slight hook to my nose and a low tip, on the tip itself the cartilage has dropped slightly lower on the left side than the right. The cartilage moves up and down when you press it and i feel the difference is quite obvious and unsightly. Thank you for your time, I hope to hear from you,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. From your description, I would say that the nasal tip requires stronger support in order to provide a balanced relationship with the bridge of the nose. This can be achieved most frequently through an open rhinoplasty approach. It would be possible to evaluate using a computer simulation, what it is that you would feel comfortable with, and to establish a treatment plan able to achieve that type of change.

My nose is big and has a large hump on the bridge which I am extremely self conscious about

Q. Hi, My nose is big and has a large hump on the bridge which I am extremely self conscious about. I would like to have nose surgery in order to improve my image as well as to boost my confidence. How much would this type of operation cost and is there a long waiting list for this type of procedure? Thanks,

A. Thank you for your inquiry. Typically, we aim to accommodate requests for consultation within 2 to 3 weeks. Between the time you decide to proceed with surgery and the time that it can be organised there is usually an interval of 3 to 6 weeks.
