Im 24 years old and have quite a large bumpy nose

Q. Im 24 years old and have quite a large bumpy nose. How can I improve the look of my nose using through non-surgical methods or plastic surgery?,

A. Thank you for your inquiry. In essence, the non surgical approach only allows for increase in the size of the nose, and because of this the types of change that are suitable include small asymmetries, enhancing the top of the bridge so that the bump seems less contrasting; the tip of the nose can be increased also, as well as the underside of the tip. If you are looking for a straight and smaller nose, surgery is likely to be the suitable option.

Q. I have a large dent on the tip of my nose and have had 2 surgeries to attemt to fix this issue but both have failed. I recently had filler around 4 months ago and this has also failed to fix my problem. Any suggestions as to what treatment may work?,

A. Thank you for your inquiry. I cannot understand why the surgical interventions have not worked. I would need to evaluate the problem in consultation in order o advise.

its just been 7 months and few days i had open septo rhinoplasty where my dorsum and my tip is reduced

Q. mr lucian ion thanks for answering all my questions as its just been 7 months and few days i had open septo rhinoplasty where my dorsum and my tip is reduced way too much and my tip is turned upwards i want to ask you how long should i wait before i book an appointment with you and reading your answers make me feel everything can be fixed many thanks,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. It is possible to proceed to a consultation at this stage, which would give you more time to prepare for the surgery. The surgery however is best deferred until 9 to 12 months following the previous intervention. At the time of the consultation it is possible to define the changes that you would like to achieve with the assistance of computer simulation.

My nose overprojects, and is too long for my face this is despite having rhinoplasty surgery 2 years ago

Q. My nose overprojects, and is too long for my face this is despite having rhinoplasty surgery 2 years ago. Would revision surgery help me.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would suggest discussing this in a consultation using computer imaging either on standard photographs or 3D, in order better evaluate what it is you would consider to be a good result for you. Sometimes, the surgery leads to an elegant shape of the nose, but for the patient the proportions with the rest of the face are not right, and this is where I believe computer imaging can help clarify what would be the ideal outcome for the intervention, and whether it is indeed feasible. Without any doubt, the outcome of surgery is always somewhat different from the simulation, but I feel that when the plan is accurate the chance of success is improved.

I am thinking about rhinoplasty as i have been self concious about my nose for years

Q. Hi, I am thinking about rhinoplasty as i have been self concious about my nose for years. From the front my nose looks quite normal but from a side view the shape of my nostrils make my nose look very sharp looking and the tip is also quite pointy. I have also noticed that my nose is not symmetrical as when i look up i can see that one nostril is a bit larger than the other one and i have quite a defined crease running down the middle of my nose starting from the tip. I would just like a softer looking more symmetrical nose. As my nearest cosmetic surgery clinic is two hours away i was just looking for some advice online first, do you think that rhinoplasty would work for me from the description i have given? Thankyou.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. As far as I understand from your comments, you are looking for a procedure that would be softening somewhat the contours of the nose, and improve the symmetry. I wouldn’t like to point out that perfect symmetry is not achievable through surgery, because there are too many elements of the facial contours that are asymmetric in everybody. In terms of a softer, general appearance of the nose, it is indeed possible to achieve it, and I would recommend a discussion in consultation based on computer imaging, possibly in 3-D.

Can we widen the dorsum without augumentation of the bridge as i dont want to raise the bridge

Q. Can we widen the dorsum without augumentation of the bridge as i dont want to raise the bridge,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. Yes indeed, it is possible to widen the bridge of the accounts without raising it, either using spreader grafts or onlay grafts, but you have to appreciate that on a three-quarter view, or semi-profile, the impression may be of slight bump on the bridge. if you want to evaluate the impact of this type of change, I would recommend a consultation using 3-D imaging, which allows you to rotate the images and appreciate better the impact of some potential changes.

I hate my nosetrill , it looks big, I probably caused by having a bad habit of picking my nose

Q. I hate my nosetrill , it looks big, I probably caused by having a bad habit of picking my nose. I cant wear sun glasses as it make the two round nosetrill even look bigger. I become so self conscious even I am told I m a good-looking guy. Please help me to change to ‘normal’ . Where is the best clinic to go for this and how much it will cost. Thank u! Doctor!,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would be happy to see you in consultation, and try to evaluate on the computer imaging what it is you would describe as normal, in order to understand whether it is feasible, and how much change would be necessary. I have had a lump in my nose like it has been broken for a long time but i have never broken it

Q. hello. I have had a lump in my nose like it has been broken for a long time but i have never broken it and i really want it removed what can you suggest for me?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would typically advise a consultation using computer assessment and simulation of the possible changes and your preferred end result. Based on that, it is possible to discuss the procedure that is most likely to deliver an outcome close to the projection. It is important however to bear in mind that the results will always have some differences from the computer simulation.

I have a small hump and nose is overprojected and tip a bit bulbous. Could surgery fix these problems?

Q. I have a small hump and nose is overprojected and tip a bit bulbous. Could surgery fix these problems?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. What you describe falls under the scope of reduction rhinoplasty, which is one of the most common reasons for rhinoplasty surgery. You can find out more about it on my website at: http://www.allaboutcosmeticsurgery.co.uk/rhinoplasty/types/reduction-rhinoplasty To begin with, it is possible to design the type of changes you would like to see on a computer simulation, which will allow me to present you with a treatment plan that will aim to achieve the changes. Bearing in mind however that the outcome of the surgery is never identical to the computer based image.

I am 13 years old and I broke my nose last year, what is the minimum age I would be able to undergo rhinoplasty surgery with parental consent?

Q. I am 13 years old and I broke my nose last year, what is the minimum age I would be able to undergo rhinoplasty surgery with parental consent?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. In general terms and, I preferred to undertake rhinoplasty after the age of 18, when the facial features enter a somewhat slower phase in development. In the context of post-traumatic changes, in particular if quite significant, I would be happy to evaluate the situation from around the age of 17, so the nasal development is relatively complete.
