I feel I already know the answer to this question but on a previous website I was one question was about having cosmetic suergery and the site suggests that in the UK people can have surgey without consent from the age of 16. I was told this was 18 because I am currently waiting to do something about my nose and my parents will niot give me thier permission. This is definatly not correct right??,
A. Thank you for your enquiry. To the best of my knowledge, the age of consent for surgery is indeed 16. In my view however, this is too early for rhinoplasty surgery, as your face is still undergoing considerable change. I believe that the fact that your parents are against it for the time being, is actually to your benefit. It does not stop you from exploring the possible changes, but if you refrain from surgery for now, and then re-evaluate your goals in one year and in 2 year’s time, I am convinced that you will find that your targets have changed, and you will be happy that you did not rush to have the operation.
