Q. There is large hump or lump on the bridge of my nose received from a mountain biking accident. I have lived with this for a while but I really feel iy knocks my confidence especially when taking to the opposite sex. It doesnt help when people say ” You used to have such a nice nose”. Can you please provide details of treatment for this problem and any costs that will be involved please??,
A. Hi there thanks for your email. your problem sounds like a classical post-traumatic deformity. In actual fact, you might be eligible for treatment on the NHS if you have breathing problems too (depending on where you live). It might therefore be worthwhile talking to your GP. The final results of a rhinoplasty take around a year to be seen, and even then there is some degree of unpredictability. So, I would say that photographs don’t tell you what you will look like, but tell me what I should be aiming for at the end of the operation. Bruising and swelling start at the end of the operation and your nose is then placed in a plaster which means you first see it when it’s at its most swollen

You would therefore need a septorhinoplasty to reshape the nose as well as corrected the deviated septum. I charge £150 for your consultation.
