A. Dear Laura, Thank you very much for your enquiry, generally we do prefer if you have a parental consent if you are considering a rhinoplasty in the age of 16. In addition most surgeons are unlikely to perform rhinoplasty on anyone who is 16 as the nose has not finished growing adequately and most people would wait their surgeons who prefer to wait until you are 18. A. I am so sorry this has happened to you. There are things you can do. It sounds like you have had the dorsum or back of your nose over-resected and you can have this augmented with fillers (non permanent) or bone (ribs) or cartilage (ear or septum), but it depends a little on how big the problem is and how much there is missing. The flared nostrils can be made smaller and the bulbous tip can be made more refined. If you do come for a consult, please bring pictures of how you looked like before the operation. I am planning on booking a consultation and having surgery done with the month but then have to go to a friends wedding in September . Im not really concerned on how I will look at the time, but am concerned I may have some complications flying.,

The risks associated with flying after surgery are due to increased risk of deep vein thrombosis, and the risks level out within approximately one month. general recommendations remain the same with regards to inflight stockings, reduced alcohol intake during the flight (dehydration), and mobilising every 1-2 hours.
