Q. Hi. I hope you can help I had my initial nose job done over 10 years ago in Paris but the results were not what I expected them to be. I just wanted the tip refining as I felt it was too rounded but he took too much away and made my nostrils look flared. I have not had courage to think about fixing it but I have found a new partner and got some of my confidence back but every time I look in mirror it reminds me. Maybe it is some kind of reconstruction surgery that I need but wanted to ask if you have any experience of this kind of surgery. Many thanks for getting back to me.,

 

A. Hello there Thank you for your kind email. As I am sure you would have been told, rhinoplasty surgery is quite complex and unfortunately the outcome can lead to patient dissatisfaction. I always warn my patients that the re-operation rate overall for this surgery can be up to 30%. You are obviously keen to improve the appearance of your nose further and it is good to vocalise what you are feeling – I am sure something can be done! I sympathise with your situation and it is great you have a new partner. A. Hi there. I can perform digital imaging for you, but you need to have two consultations for that – the first is to take the pictures and have the consultation and the second is to see them. The final results of a rhinoplasty take around a year to be seen, and even then there is some degree of unpredictability. So, I would say that photographs don’t tell you what you will look like, but tell me what I should be aiming for at the end of the operation. Bruising and swelling start at the end of the operation and your nose is then placed in a plaster which means you first see it when it’s at its most swollen

Q. I was wondering if you could help me. I have wanted a nose job for a few years im 19 years of age. however I think i need more than just a regular rhinoplasty. as my right nostril is blocked due the the wall in the middle of the nose,It is starting to hurt now. A. Thank you for your enquiry. From what you describe; you have a severely deviated septum, which is blocking your right nostril. You would therefore need a septorhinoplasty to reshape the nose as well as corrected the deviated septum. I charge £150 for your consultation. The fees for this type of surgery is in the region of £5600- but an accurate quotation can only be provided following your consultation. Q. I had phinoplasty surgery 5 months ago and I am so unhappy with the tip of my nose it appears to be turned now and it wasnt like that before the surgery, should i go back to my surgeon or shoud i give it more time to settle,

Generally, we would recommend that you get back to your surgeon and have an open discussion with him about your feelings about the nose and your unhappiness with it. Q. Can you tell me of any complications you have experienced when conducting closed rhinoplasty operations. Im thinking more from a recovery perspective.,

 

A. Thank you for your enquiry. A very good question – the most common postoperative complication has been severe bruising around the lower eyelids in 0.5% of cases. I have not had any bleeding or infection using the closed rhinoplasty technique. I do not recommend the closed technique for a complicated tip or revision surgery apart from a minor adjustment.
