I want to have the size of my nose reducted at the tip and possibly a little of the width as well

Q. I want to have the size of my nose reducted at the tip and possibly a little of the width as well. I know I will be able to make a better judgement after seeing yourself. My question was I also want to have a face lift and wondered if it was wise to have both procedures at the sametime. Your opinion on this would be greatly received.,

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it’s certainly is possible to reduce the size of your nose tip and the width of your nose. This could be done at the same time as a facelift if you so wished. You would need to see a surgeon who specializes in both these procedures to discuss the best way forward for you. I think it maybe worthwhile having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk which has information on both of these procedures. If you feel you would like to schedule a free consultation to discuss the best way forward for you please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. I am half Asian and half Enlgish, I want a flat nose is that possible?

Q. I am half Asian and half Enlgish, I want a flat nose is that possible? Regards,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. It is possible to reshape the nose in many ways, but to be honest I think the most important part is to try to have a clear representation of the shape you would like to achieve before clarifying whether it is within achievable range. This can take place using computer imaging and simulation either based on standard photographs and 3-D images.

I have a long nose which I would like to have corrected

Q. I have a long nose which I would like to have corrected. When conductiong this procedure are you actually taking out tissue to shorten the area. Is this very painful after the surgery has been completed??,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. To shorten a long nose you do have to excise the caudal or lower end of the septum of the nose. It is also quite likely that they may need adjustments done to the lower lateral cartilages of the nose. The procedure can be done as a “dekis” procedure and the general anesthesia and is not too painful or uncomfortable after surgery. I am thinking about getting nose cosmetic surgery as I have always hated my nose

Q. I am thinking about getting nose cosmetic surgery as I have always hated my nose – it totally dominates my face! How much does this cost and how much experience do you have of doing these procedures? What is your revision rate?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. The cost of reduction rhinoplasty would depend on what procedures are necessary. This would need an initial consultation with a plastic surgeon or an ENT surgeon who is experienced with rhinoplasty. An average reduction rhinoplasty cost anything between £ 5000 to £ 6000 pounds inclusive of the anesthesia and the hospital cost. I have quite an extensive experience of undertaking reduction rhinoplasty’s and my revision date is around 8% to 10%. Aged 29 I had rhinoplasty about 4 years ago for a large nose with a diamond fracture

Q. Aged 29 I had rhinoplasty about 4 years ago for a large nose with a diamond fracture, excessive cartiledge in the tip and it pulled to the right when I smiled. Ever since being done I have small bump on the left of bridge which isn’t visible to the eye but is to the touch and sometimes the tip looks bigger than the bones connecting in to it and can appear a bit bulbous at the end. I had an open rhinoplasty and when I smile its like the skin between my nostrils hasn’t settled properly and it can look a bit lop sided. I had to massage a lump of scar tissue on the inside of my nose for months to get the scar to settle. I went back to the original company that did the op but the surgeon had left so I saw another. He said I should be happy with the result and if I wanted to change it then it would mean another open rhinoplasty which I found off putting. I’m after a second opinion really about whether I should consider secondary rhinoplasty or just to be happy with the result. Thanks,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. This is a type of question that can only be answered properly after a consultation. If the problem that you are faced with is a relatively minor one, it may be more practical to accept the result for what it is. If you find that it constantly makes you think about it and does not give you peace, there may be some scope to have a consultation using the imaging in 2-D or in 3-D, to identify your target for change. One thing that is very important though is to appreciate that movement of the facial muscles distorts the nose in everybody, and there is very little value in pursuing surgery in the hope that the nose will stay the same when you smile.

I am thinking of having a nose reduction, can u tell me how your consultation procedure goes and how long till the surgery can be completed?

Q. I am thinking of having a nose reduction, can u tell me how your consultation procedure goes and how long till the surgery can be completed?,

A. Thank you for your question. The first consultation for rhinoplasty takes on average 45 min and an second consultation is often advisable a few weeks later. Typically, between the time that you decide to have the surgery and the that time that we can fit you in for the operation varies between three and six weeks.

I am 16 years of age and am wondering about reducing the size of my nose

Q. I am 16 years of age and am wondering about reducing the size of my nose, should i wait till i am older and my features to fully develop before i take further action?,

A. I will suggest that you wait for another 2 years till you are 18 years of age before you consider a rhinoplasty. It is best taht you wait till your facial growth is complete and your features fully developed before undertaking any procedure that may require having to undertake fracture of the nasal bones and alteration of the cartilage of the nose.

I have a nose with a tip which points downwards and I consider a little big

Q. I have a nose with a tip which points downwards and I consider a little big. Would this be suitable for a non surgical procedure and what cost would it involve? As a student I would appreciate any advice on the most cost effective way.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry Nonsurgical interventions for nasal reshaping are based on adding volume through injectable fillers, for a strategic reshaping effect which has its limitations. If you already feel that the tip of the nose is a little big, it is unlikely that adding more material to the notes will make it look more proportionate with the rest of the facial features. I think the best approach is to have a consultation using computerised imaging in order to define your targets and clarify what it is you would like to achieve in the end. It may be better to postpone until the time when things are financially more convenient for you, and then to spend money on a procedure that is less likely to give you what you want.

My nose looks really large especially from a profile view because the nasel bone sticks out

Q. My nose looks really large especially from a profile view because the nasel bone sticks out. Is it possible to shave down the side of the nasal bone. Will this be a very invasive procedure?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. First, I think you need to determine what is the shape that you would like to achieve after the operation, and to this effect I tend to use computer imaging and procedure planning either on standard photographs or in 3-D. Ultimately, the extent of the surgery is less relevant than achieving the results that you feel happy with.
