Am contemplating rhinoplasty surgery for a crooked nose

Q. Am contemplating rhinoplasty surgery for a crooked nose, can you please let me know what the procedure involves and what are the risks involved. Also is there alot of pain also.,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. You would need to have a detailed consultation with a plastic surgeon on taking rhinoplasty to be able to get more information from you as far as what you mean by a croaked nose. Most likely you may have a deviation of the nasal septum or the central gristle of the nose and there could be an associated deviation of the bony septum. Depending on which of the structures is involved you may need adreseptoplasty or reseptorhinoplasty. Both procedure’s are different in so far as septorhinoplasty would involved correction of both the septum into bracket gristle as well as the bony framework while a septoplasty would involved tackling only the septum on the gristle of the nose. The commonly involved risk would be bruising, hematoma, bleeding, inadequate correction of the problem and in case of a cartilagenous deviation recurrence of the deviation is a definite posibility. It is a painful procedure although the pain is more of an issue in the first 2 days and does settle down quite quickly. My nose has always been something that has bothered me since I was a child and I have my profile

Q. My nose has always been something that has bothered me since I was a child and I have my profile. I have I large hump in the middle of my nose and makes me so self conscious. I am considering having nose surgery to remove the hump but am concerned I will not be happy with the result. I have waited so long to get the courage and know exactly what I want doing but what happens if I dont like my new nose? I dont know what I would do if I am not happy with my result of my rhinoplasty?,

A. Hi there. Removing bumps is a very common reason for people wanting a rhinoplasty, and you can read more about someone I did this on here: http://www.labelleforme.co.uk/rhinoplasty.html. If you don’t like the result then you do need to be aware of the risk of revision surgery. I have a one year aftercare policy and if you’re unhappy then you need to tell me within a year for me to do further surgery without charge. All surgeons have a revision rate, so you need to ask your surgeon what they would do if you don’t get the nose you want.

I have been wanting a nose reshaping for a long time i will be 48 years next year

Q. I have been wanting a nose reshaping for a long time i will be 48 years next year . i would like to change my hair style and also be able to wear hats always find my nose shape a problem in wanting to do this . i think ive got a wide nose. I look after my self keeping fit and a good diet .How do i find the right consultant .,

A. Thank you for your question. If you start looking into having the rhinoplasty operation, it is a good idea to have a look on the Internet for orientation regarding results, as surgeons frequently have a “style” of their own which may suit your preferences. In addition, expect them to have the right qualifications and training either through the channels of plastic surgery or ENT, but most importantly meet several surgeons so you can get a clearer idea of their approach and how it corresponds to your designs for change. I tend to favour using computer imaging and procedure planning during the consultation, but every surgeon will have their own approach. Finally, you can also ask your surgeon if they can put you in touch with previous patients that had surgery with him.

I am 16 years of age and am wondering about reducing the size of my nose

Q. I am 16 years of age and am wondering about reducing the size of my nose, should i wait till i am older and my features to fully develop before i take further action?,

A. I will suggest that you wait for another 2 years till you are 18 years of age before you consider a rhinoplasty. It is best taht you wait till your facial growth is complete and your features fully developed before undertaking any procedure that may require having to undertake fracture of the nasal bones and alteration of the cartilage of the nose.

I have a hump and depressed tip on a narrow nose i wonder if non surgical nose job is the right thing for me and what the costs are

Q. I have a hump and depressed tip on a narrow nose i wonder if non surgical nose job is the right thing for me and what the costs are,

A. Thank yu fo r your question. Because of the more limited scope of non-surgical reshaping of the nose, it does depend on what your target is. It is possible to evaluate in the consultation the degree of change that you seek using computer simulation and planning. Based on this, it is more reasonable to decide whether a nonsurgical approach would give you a result that you are happy with. It will also allow planning for the material to use for the augmentation and associated costs.

just wondering what would be the best procedure to get to like reshape a crooked nose

Q. hi there just wondering what would be the best procedure to get to like reshape a crooked nose because i’m not sure if it’s septorhinoplasty or would it be deviated septum? can you get it done at seventeen and how much would it cost anyway?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. A septo-rhinoplasty operation addresses both the nasal septum and the external shape of the nose, for improved airway and appearance. I’m afraid I tend to do this surgery after the age of 18, allowing for a more complete development of the face, which helps when determining the general reshaping of the nose. I would be happy to see you in consultation together with one of your parents, but I would insist about surgery waiting until you have become 18. For guidance regarding costs related to more common aesthetic surgery procedures, or combination of procedures, or to book a consultation, please visit my website at: http://aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk/about-cost-of-surgery.php If you would like to find out regarding the cost of procedures not included in the list, or different combinations, kindly contact our office either by telephone at: 020 7486 7757, or by e-mail at: contact@aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk , and my team will be delighted to help you. Im looking for treatment for a thin nose on a narrow face

Q. Im looking for treatment for a thin nose on a narrow face. My concern is it won’t look right for my face once its made wider? What treatments do you use to widen a persons nose?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. From description in your question, You seemed to need corrections of small and thin nose on your face. This is a difficult problem to correct and would needs to assess the height and shape and the size of the nose in relation to your face. This would be best done by consulting a plastic surgeon that specializes rhinoplasty. Potentially, one can increase the size of the nose by undertaking an augmentation by rhinoplasty using your own tissues for example bone grafting or this cartilage grafting or prosthetic materials such as silicone schemes or silicone augmentation material. You will need to be assessed by a plastic surgeon for the augmentation will be made. For more information you may visit our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk. I am a afro/caribean with a flat nose. however i want to see if im eligeable for a non surgical nose job

Q. I am a afro/caribean with a flat nose. however i want to see if im eligeable for a non surgical nose job before a surgical job as i would like to see if i am happy with a change and as i only want to make the top of my nose look straighter and for the tip to be lifted. Is there anyway of determining this by pictures or anything else recommened. I live in birmingham so as close by as possible!,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would imagine that a nonsurgical reshaping of the bridge of the nose if it is a matter of making it stand out more, would be feasible. I would however highlight the fact that in my hands, this would mean a temporary filler to avoid problems related to permanent fillers. With regard to the tip of the nose, I doubt that a nonsurgical approach will give you satisfaction. It is possible to do a simulation on computer using either 2-D or 3-D imaging to give you an indication of what the changes could be. You can find out more at: http://www.allaboutcosmeticsurgery.co.uk/rhinoplasty/consultation/computerised-3d-planning and http://www.allaboutcosmeticsurgery.co.uk/3d-imaging
