I have lost strength in my nose and I feel the cartilage has become weaker and I have noticed an indentation at the tip of my nose like a fine line that has never been there before, because of my skin type I do not fall into the category for surgical rhinoplasty. I would like to know if I could be eligible for non surgical rhinoplasty in the supratip of my nose and some of the dorsum.,

Q. Next year I plan to have a rhinoplasty to fix several difference characteristics of my nose that I dislike. They are the size of the tip, sixe of the nose, shape size of the nostrils, a bump, the bridge, and the constant redness. I would like to know, is it realistic for me to expect all of these things to be fixed in one surgery?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. The only part that is never improved by the surgery is the redness, and in fact it can be made worse by the operation because of the interference with blood supply to the skin. The redness of the nose can be improved by intense pulsed light treatments, laser treatments, or if the redness is due to rosacea, dermatology advice should be sought. With regards to the reshaping of the nose, it is possible to evaluate the points you have raised on a computer simulation either on standard photographs or in 3-D. This allows for a more accurate discussion and planning, as well as an evaluation of what is reasonable to expect from a surgical intervention.

It is possible to reshape the nose in many ways, but to be honest I think the most important part is to try to have a clear representation of the shape you would like to achieve before clarifying whether it is within achievable range. This can take place using computer imaging and simulation either based on standard photographs and 3-D images.
