I have been wanting a nose reshaping for a long time i will be 48 years next year . i would like to change my hair style and also be able to wear hats always find my nose shape a problem in wanting to do this . i think ive got a wide nose. I look after my self keeping fit and a good diet .How do i find the right consultant .,

 

A. Thank you for your question. If you start looking into having the rhinoplasty operation, it is a good idea to have a look on the Internet for orientation regarding results, as surgeons frequently have a “style” of their own which may suit your preferences. In addition, expect them to have the right qualifications and training either through the channels of plastic surgery or ENT, but most importantly meet several surgeons so you can get a clearer idea of their approach and how it corresponds to your designs for change. I tend to favour using computer imaging and procedure planning during the consultation, but every surgeon will have their own approach. Finally, you can also ask your surgeon if they can put you in touch with previous patients that had surgery with him.

Q. I am 16 years of age and am wondering about reducing the size of my nose, should i wait till i am older and my features to fully develop before i take further action?,

 

A. I will suggest that you wait for another 2 years till you are 18 years of age before you consider a rhinoplasty. It is best taht you wait till your facial growth is complete and your features fully developed before undertaking any procedure that may require having to undertake fracture of the nasal bones and alteration of the cartilage of the nose.

Q. I have a hump and depressed tip on a narrow nose i wonder if non surgical nose job is the right thing for me and what the costs are,

 

A. Thank yu fo r your question. Because of the more limited scope of non-surgical reshaping of the nose, it does depend on what your target is. It is possible to evaluate in the consultation the degree of change that you seek using computer simulation and planning. Based on this, it is more reasonable to decide whether a nonsurgical approach would give you a result that you are happy with. It will also allow planning for the material to use for the augmentation and associated costs.

Q. I am a afro/caribean with a flat nose. however i want to see if im eligeable for a non surgical nose job before a surgical job as i would like to see if i am happy with a change and as i only want to make the top of my nose look straighter and for the tip to be lifted. Is there anyway of determining this by pictures or anything else recommened. I live in birmingham so as close by as possible!,

 

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I would imagine that a nonsurgical reshaping of the bridge of the nose if it is a matter of making it stand out more, would be feasible. I would however highlight the fact that in my hands, this would mean a temporary filler to avoid problems related to permanent fillers. With regard to the tip of the nose, I doubt that a nonsurgical approach will give you satisfaction. It is possible to do a simulation on computer using either 2-D or 3-D imaging to give you an indication of what the changes could be. Q. I would like to have my nose reshaped as I feel it too big and wide. The problem is I suffer from somewhat violent allergies and sneeze alot evenm when ive had my medication pills and my nose becomes very runny. Could this be a problem after having surgery?,

Q. I had rhinoplasty 17 years ago on the NHS and the bump on the bridge was removed and nothing else done so it was terrible, 2 years later I had another operation in the U.S. which improved it a lot but my nose is still not right, assymetrical and wide at the bridge. Is it possible that I could have something done on the NHS or would I need to go private to try and get it corrected again. Thanks.,

Q. My nostril partition can be seen especially when looking from the side. My Doctor advised me I would be able to get this sorted with surgery but wasent able to go into anymore detail than that.
